  Originated as a politically incorrect response against social-conservative behavior stigmatizing drug users and persons opposing the War On Drugs.
  
  The terms appears to have originated from the online imageboard -- "leftypol.org" due to an influx of users stemming from the currently defunct imageboard of -- "420chan.org" which began to redirect to leftypol.org.
