Definition of Jedi mind trick
Jedi mind trick
- Originally from the movie "Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope." In it, Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi displays how the Force can have an influence over the weak-minded. In "Star Wars, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," Jabba the Hutt refers to this skill as a "Jedi mind trick." Ergo it's generally used when one causes another to perform a totally uncharacteristic action, like Julian's mom letting him do anything.
Julian talked his mom into letting him go to the beach for a week. He really pulled a Jedi mind trick on her!
