choked

adjective

  • overcome with emotion. Typically with anger. Originally a form of British slang. More commonly used in Canada than in the US, particularly in the western provinces. Can also refer to intense emotion (e.g. 'when he told me he loved me, I was so choked up'), or intense disappointment (e.g. 'when I found out I didn't get the job, I was pretty choked').
    When that guy hit my car, I was so choked.
    When I saw the scary face, I was so choked.
