- advertisements posted in any inappropriate place on the internet (blog comments, discussion forums, etc.)
- any large, annoying quantity of output. For instance, sending hundreds of lines of nonsense in a chat-room.

- to send many identical or nearly-identical messages - especially ones containing advertising - separately to a large number of email addresses.
- to send many identical or nearly-identical messages separately to a large number of internet forums.
- to post irrelevant or inappropriate messages to an internet forum.
