• a person who looks good from afar, but not good up close. That is, rating attractiveness on a scale of 0 to 10, they are a "10" from afar, and a "4" up close.

  I was walking up to this girl to talk to her, but it she was a 10-4.

  Because he's a detective, people think when he says, "10-4" he means, "I understand." But we know he's really talking about girls who are pretty damn ugly.
