H
How about them apples?
expression
- 'Them apples', or more correctly 'Those apples' or 'These apples' refers to an act, deed, behavior, etc. characterized by comparison of a particular situation wherein the values can be measured by each party of a conflict. It is a very loose fitting term meant to instill rivalry between them.
Last edited on Nov 18 2013. Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 18 2013.
interjection
- synonymous with "What do you think about that?" Also "How do you like them apples?"
How about them apples?

- See more words with the same meaning: inquiries (list of).

notes
- Note that the phrase in its colloquial use is ungrammatical. While a listener would understand "How about those apples" as being an equivalent question, using "them" is traditional.
