notes
- Etymology submission (likely folk):
The Marines were used by ship's skippers as a police force. Marines were often taller than the sailors. When ordered to quell fights below decks, they often banged their heads on the beams. As often as they jarred their heads, while responding to trouble, they eventually became known as jarheads.Last edited on Jul 22 2012. Submitted by Anonymous on Mar 20 2012.

- A vehicle that is far too low to the ground and has so little suspension that it "scrapes" along its bottom when negotiating any kind of raised surface in the road. Not to be confused with a "whip," which is a vehicle that, for some unknown reason is being operated by a driver who is OUTSIDE the vehicle. (Ghost-Rider!)
