  • a professional mechanic that works on cars, bikes and other vehicle for a much lower price than a shop. However, there's no warranty or guarantee on parts and labor. Compare to: shadetree mechanic.
    Hey, Pep Boys wants to charge me an arm and a leg to work on my car. It's time to go see the backyard mechanic.
