- An illicit profit or gain; benefit not accounted for in accounts or for tax purposes.
"manager's bunce": Profit in cash or other benefit made outside normal accounting rules, eg from unrecorded transactions, inflation of selling price or deflation of buying price.
- A windfall, often unexpected, usually from organized, ongoing but short term, illicit activity. The continued product of marginal or illicit schemes for gain. Term used among the lower classes in England. A slave trading island offshore from Sierra Leone was named Bunce Island and is now a protected heritage site.
