pete
noun
- Short for Peter, commonly used to refer to safes, tills and cash boxes. Predominant use in 1920's through 1940's. Sometimes also used to refer to a prison cell or a courtroom witness box.
I'm known for taking petes.
I'm the best pete man in the country.
