Etymology: "that hims" It's like saying "That hims", and its the object of the sentence. Pronounced like (THahmz).
Example: There were three groups of guys I was with: A, B, C. I bought A a soda and I bought B a coke, I also bought thams a Pepsi.
"thams" is referring to A, because A is less immediate within the contexts of the sentence. But if the word "hims" was used then there would be ambiguity and we would not know if one is talking about A or B.
This is the most useful when talking about people who are present with you.
If A and B are in proximity while one is saying this, then instead of relying on the context of the sentence, one would rely on the context of their physical surroundings.
