- Baseball terminology. Stealing bases with a big lead late in the game is "bush league." Bunting for a base hit in similar situation is the same. Both acctions will get the next hitter drilled with a fastball in the ribs. Retaliation like that is NOT bush league - it's "delivering a message" in a form of communication that can be understood by a "bush leaguer"
