adverb

  • (sic) is not slang, it is from the Latin 'sic erat scriptum' which means "thus, it has been written" and is used to show you have copied a piece of text (including spelling mistakes).

Slipknot titled a song from their self-titled album "sic" and now a generation of idiots think it means "sick".
