  • The original phrase is: "As useless as a bag of hammers." The implied meaning is that 1 hammer is useful with a bag of nails, but a bag of hammers and no nails is useless.

    "Having a face like a bag of hammers" is a nonsensical twist on the original phrase.

vittles

noun - plural

  • synonymous with "stuff" but often meaning food. Sometimes prefaced with "tender", due to the existence of the Tender Vittles brand of cat food.
    I'm hungry for some tender vittles.
    I brought him some vittles.
