  • Getting beside yourself is a saying that's used to describe how someone is acting out such as having a tantrum, being goofy or loud for no reason. Compare with Overreacting. Example: I can't believe you're getting mad over $ 5.00 when you owe me $ 300.00, now you're "Getting beside yourself".
