Definition of a sit-in

sit-in

noun

  • done in protest of something or someone, where the protestors non-threatening just occupy the space or building in which they are protesting in by sitting on the floor/ground and refusing to move for anything or anyone. Most likely later will be physically removed by a police officer, the protestor is supposed to let their bodies go limp and have to be dragged out.
