Southern kids combine the words tip and dump to form "tump" while they were learning to talk.

Southern United States; a combined word form - turn + dump = tump. Meaning to turn over and dump contents.

Used in Savannah, Georgia since at least 1880. Meaning to accidentally tip something over which usually contains liquid or is floating in liquid. Sail boats sometimes tump over. Don't tump the glass over.
