lean toward Bogart

  • In the Southeast United States, it is used by construction workers, carpenters, etc. to describe something which is off plumb or leaning in a way it was not meant to. It refers either to the real town of Bogart in Georgia or, according to my father, the mythical town of Bogart, Louisiana.
    That fence post you just put in the ground is leanin' toward Bogart.
