DIY

  • acronym for "Do It Yourself." The term was originally used to refer to repair and remodeling tasks around the home that one could do one's self, rather than hiring a professional. The term is currently used far more broadly, referring to nearly anything one can do one's self, rather than hiring a professional or buying a pre-built object.

noun

  • a member of the police force, one's nation's own military, a super-hero, etc. From the juvenile distinction between "good guys" and "bad guys" (criminals.)   • adjective. Literally, the state of a new business venture generating enough revenue to afford the purchase of instant ramen noodles, a popular inexpensive food.
