  • to succumb to any external influence that affects a person's opinion of something.
    The presenters at the conference claimed to be independent contractors, but you could tell they had drank the Kool-Aid.

  • to search the world wide web for references that would enlarge a person's ego. These include mentions of one's name, links to one's web page(s), etc.
    I've been egosurfing rather than work on my final project.

noun

  • a particular class of "off-by-one" errors in which the intuitive answer is incorrect. The following problem illustrates the error:

    "How many posts are required to build a 100 foot long fence with posts 10 feet apart?"

    The intuitive answer - 10 - is incorrect. (11 posts are required.)
