- the passenger seat in a vehicle.
Origin: the American west (i.e. during the 1800s.) The "shotgun" was the
person that sat next to the driver of a wagon with a shotgun, watching for trouble.

- a method of smoking marijuana whereby one person inhales from the source and then blows the smoke into someone else's
mouth. They inhale it and the chain continues. The term can also apply to other forms of smoking (e.g. cigarettes) but this usage is more rare.
