DarthDotard
- DARTHDOTARD
A compound slang word (and previously trending hashtag on twitter) - used as an euphemism to describe "Orange-Turd" (aka: Donald Trump)
1. darth (drth)
Darth, as in, Darth Vader, the fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. The character is the primary antagonist in the original trilogy. He wore a mask with a breathing apparatus, and that distinct sound it produced has been specifically compared to that of DONALD TRUMP, in particular, when he was tasked on those rare occasions at reading from a teleprompter. He would breathe in and out so deliberately and forceful, that it became a meme.
TRUMP was notorious for going 'off-script' and would go off on tangents, finding it difficult to focus on any prepared statement, unless coached beforehand to stick to what was on the monitor.
He had very poor reading skills/comprehension and suffers from dyslexia. The late-night comedians often joked that TRUMP was snorting cold medicine before having to give a televised speech, because he would breathe so deeply and so loudl, that they would often compare him to Darth Vader.
2. dotard (dtrd), [n.] A person, esp. an old person, exhibiting a decline in mental faculties; a weak-minded or foolish old person
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had some choice words for US President Donald Trump, accusing the Beleaguered leader of "mentally deranged behavior." But it was Kim's use of the term "dotard," that has set the internet alight. While not widely used today, the insult is centuries old, appearing in medieval literature from the ninth century.
Searches for the term have spiked in the wake of Kim's address, according to dictionary Merriam-Webster, which defines the term as referring to "a state or period of senile decay marked by decline of mental poise."
Kim, of course, did not say the word - he was speaking in Korean. "Dotard" was the official English translation provided by state news agency KCNA for the Korean ("neulg-dali-michigwang-i") which literally translates as "old lunatic."Last edited on Feb 21 2022.
