- a spiky, aqua-netted, birds-nest, dyed-black type hairstyle, like the kind Robert Smith (of the Cure) wears. Or to use another example, think Edward Scissorhands. Origins: Siouxsie Sioux, a goth band lead woman, nicknamed fellow gothy Robert "Fat Bob" after he packed on a bit of weight. Once the Cure got popular, kids in the States tried to imitate his hair style, and Robert's nickname got attached to it.
