• Term used to denote an ambiguous relationship between two people--they're not really going out, but they're not 'just friends'. Mostly used by outsiders to define the relationship of someone they know, or by the person him/herself to explain who the hell they brought to the party.

  Person A: Hey Steve, who's this, the new girlfriend? I thought you just broke up.
  
  Person B: Nah, she's just the neighbor.

• one of your good buddies that is also a neighbor, or a neighbor that you become tight with. This person can move away, and would still be considered a neighbro, but the opposite is not true - it's a rite of passage.
