a minor legal infraction such as jaywalking, carrying an open container of alcohol, driving on a suspended license, etc. Usually used by police to initiate a search or intentionally harass a suspect.
The police officer thought I was selling dope but he only got me on a humble.

humble pie

noun - uncountable

a metaphorical type of pie that a person "eats" when they are proven wrong in a spectacular way, are are aware that they have been proven wrong, and accept that they were wrong.
I fed my boss a big slice of humble pie today. It felt so good!

For example, imagine a person in an argument jumping up and down and yelling that their stance is correct. That person is then shown evidence that they are were wrong. If they accept that they were incorrect, then humble pie is involved.

"Humble pie" is usually used in the expression phrase eat humble pie.
