• Sheep aren't viewed as very intelligent, the term conjures up images of the animals just following one another, going wherever they're herded.

• a non-offensive expletive. Submitter Emily remembers Kermit The Frog, a character on the children's television program "Sesame Street," saying "sheesh." So despite its (possible) origin as a censored replacement for "shit," its use is acceptable in polite company.
