technobabble

noun - uncountable

  • Technical verbiage that is nonsense or, at best, difficult to understand. Often used in science fiction plot points. Origin: science fiction fandom. Example: "If we can bounce a graviton particle beam off of the main deflector dish, we should be able to break free of the cosmic ribbon's hold."
    That technobabble makes no sense.
