  • someone who reports a person or group to the authorities (e.g. police) after associating with that person or group; "narc".

  • to exit a previous arrangement, change one's mind, change one's usual behavior, etc.

    Carries a very negative connotation. Implies that the entity changed due to some influence considered negative (e.g. money, power, etc.) or inappropriate (e.g. one's significant other in a relationship.)
    They will sell out on you in a minute.
    The band sold out to the main stream and signed with a major label.
    The band used to be good before they sold out.

adjective

  • quality of having inner understanding and self-respect for one's own clothing style. Usually characterized by sub-formal wear such as a suit coat and a t-shirt with blue jeans and non-dress shoes.
    Chad is looking rather semi-fresh today; he must have achieved his inner style understanding.

  • Usually refers to a dominant female in a relationship.
    He can't go out with us tonight, the Senate wouldn't let it pass.
